The Harvest is In !

Children in Kindergarten through to year 3 recently visited a local orchard where they picked fresh fruit and produce.

They came back to school with buckets full of mandarins which they graded for quality. The second grade fruit went into juice and making jam while the better quality fruit was sold at a street-side stall out front of the school.

Money raised from this stall went into the excursion to Tropical Fruit World.

This project, and excursion, was part of their study of "Products and Processes". Children have looked at the ways products are made and the steps taken to bring that product to the market or as a finished work.
